Community Uplift

CWIT manages community uplift programs in several community centres in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, benefiting children from low-income, disadvantaged communities and their families.

These community centres are located in two slum areas in Rabale (Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra):

  • Saibaba Nagar and Sambhaji Nagar
    and at five former quarry sites in Nerul (Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra):
  • Ramesh Metal Quarry
  • Mahatma Gandhi Nagar Quarry
  • DR Patil Quarry
  • Hindustan Petroleum Quarry
  • Riconda Bonsari Quarry

CWIT’s programs have transformed the lives of many of these children, opening doors to higher education and careers, thereby making their dreams come true.

Empowerment of girls in these community centres is an important cause which CWIT has been striving for and has been successful throughout the years.

Community Uplift Services

Sponsorship Program:

  • provides underprivileged children with essential education and support, promoting independence and self-sufficiency.
  • provides nutritional assistance and enhances children’s learning capabilities, fostering overall development.
  • engages families and communities to create a conducive environment for healthy child growth and broader community development.

Objectives of the Sponsorship program:

  • to deliver educational, health, and nutritional services to sponsored children and families for holistic well-being.
  • to support community-based projects addressing specific needs of sponsored areas, improving overall quality of life.
  • to provide assistance and resources to prevent family disintegration due to socio-economic challenges, enabling families to thrive together.

Community Uplift Programs

CWIT also runs community uplift programs in the form of:

  • Balwadis
  • Study classes (grades 1 to 7)
  • Special classes for grades 8 to 10 (English, Math, and Science)
  • Conversational English classes
  • Computer classes
  • Providing teachers, financial support, books and educational materials, school uniforms, supplies, medical assistance
  • Nutritious healthy meals
  • Medical camps
  • Coaching for chess (students took part and some received FIDE rating)
  • Coaching for football
  • Yoga classes
  • Workshops and exhibitions for children in History and Science
  • Sketching, drawing, painting, and craft classes/workshops
  • Gardening and environment-related workshops
  • Solar energy awareness session
  • Green-day celebration
  • Tailoring classes and beauty care courses for the empowerment of girls
  • Summer camps
  • Personality development workshops
  • Career guidance sessions
  • Bakery course
